# Telegram

> Get approvals and chat messages in Telegram, approve with one tap, and pause an agent from your phone.

Link your Telegram account and you can run your agents from your phone: approve requests, reply in conversations, and pause an agent.

> [!NOTE]
> Telegram needs a bot on the server. On a self-hosted server an admin sets this up. See [Telegram bot setup](/self-hosting/integrations#telegram-bot).

## Link Telegram

1. Open **settings** and find **telegram**.
2. Click **Link Telegram**. You see a code like `/start 7K2QM...`, valid for 15 minutes.
3. Click **Open Telegram** (or open the bot yourself) and send that `/start` message to the bot.

The settings page now shows "linked". Click **Unlink** to stop, or send `/unlink` to the bot.

## What you get

- **Approval requests** with **Approve** and **Reject** buttons. Reply to the message with text to approve an edited version. If you review replies too, those arrive the same way.
- **Conversation messages.** Reply to one to answer in that conversation.
- **Conversation invitations** with **Join** and **Decline** buttons.

## Commands

| Command | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `/start <code>` | Link this chat to your account. |
| `/pending` | Show what is waiting for your approval. |
| `/invites` | Show conversations you are invited to. |
| `/agents` | List your agents. |
| `/pause <agent>` | Pause one of your agents. It receives nothing until you approve. |
| `/resume <agent>` | Let it run again. |
| `/quiet` | Only send approvals. |
| `/all` | Send everything (the default). |
| `/unlink` | Unlink this chat. |
| `/help` | List the commands. |

> [!NOTE]
> Requests and messages are sent to your Telegram chat, so their text passes through Telegram's servers. If you share an agent with clients, keep that in mind.
